So here is the plan

Wallnerbrothers to run own UCI-team together with Åre bikepark

We are proud to announce that we established a Scandinavian UCI-raceteam for 2011 and beyond. Together with some great partners & sponsors we believe this will be a great move both for us but also for the Scandinavian scene. To this date there are no UCI-registered teams.

2011 will be the first year out and a start-up for the team but we plan on a long-term relationship with our partners and are extremely happy to be part of the ambitions for a world class race team.

“Being able to work out the list of sponsors together has been great. We will be on the best possible equipment, on a good schedule of races & events and with plenty of time for preparations. Coming of  2010 with a tough season i am really hungry to make 2011 count and also to defend my title as European champion-says Robin”

-“I´m so pumped up to step into this project and get the chance of proper team-support in 2011. It has been a long way back from my injuries in 2010 but I am now 100% and back training with Robin so i can´t wait for us to both to step it up and make the most out of next year as possible”

Team will be managed by WallnerRacing with Carina as Official Team manager.

The rest of our staff will be announced shortly.

We are also proud to announce our list of sponsors and partners that makes this possible:

Åre bikepark

POC helmets & armour

Scan global logistics

Dabomb bicycles

Shimano

Fox Racingshox

Elgallocomponents

Garage 24/Maxxis

5/10 shoes

GoPro cameras

I would like to make it official.

I would like to announce that i will no longer be racing for Team SunnMontgenevre for the 2011 season.

2010 was a tough season for me but i was fortunate enough to also get the biggest win in my career with the European championship title.

-10 was also a season where i learned a lot both as a rider & person, a lot of things that i will carry with me in 2011 to improve my racing.

"Robin has been a key player for our Team, he took indeed our bike, the SUNN Radical, to a European Championship win, so we definitely want to thank him for this and wish him the best of success in his new venture" explains Stéphane GIRARD, Team SUNN MONTGENEVRE Manager

I would like to thank everyone involved at Sunn, the team, Stephané Girard as a trainer and all the sponsors that made 2010 possible.

It has been a great experience working with all of you during the year and i wish the best of luck in 2011 for you all.

I will be announcing my 2011 plans in the upcoming month.

Stay tuned.

Robin.

roadie-time

Did a pretty epic roadride yesterday.

I have been wanting to do this route since summer but haven´t either had time or the weather has been shit when i had the time but yesterday i decided to do it eitherway.

It´s not too bad in the terms of KM 88km when i looked it up on googlemaps. But the scenery when u get to rättvik was pretty epic!

From Rättvik there was a pretty bad climb in the wind and i was suffering by the time i was halfway to Bjursås since i had pretty strong winds coming...the wrong way...

Made it back home and was pretty tired since it was my first propper ride in a couple of weeks. Look forward on getting back at it.

Was at the doctors with my hand again yesterday afternoon and got scheduled a new scan but not much to do just wait and see.

För de svenska läsarna kan jag uppdatera med...

Back at the farm

Just came back home last night after a RAD week in Åre.

Went there with my brother & 2 friends just to ride & do some filming and we got blessed with the best weather possible for basicly the whole week.

Last year it snowed at the same time but this time we had +12 & bluebird all week.

Didn´t do much else then just ride all day, everyday. I also had a small clinic thursday evening with some of the local-kids in Åre wich i think was appriciated.

We got some good material for the film but once we turned of the camera i decided to huck a stupid little gap and ended up jumping straight into a three smashing my hand pretty BAD so it looks like i have been out fighting at the moment... AND the comical thing is i´m scheduled with a doctor to “fix up” my thumb on the same hand tomorrow so i guess he will have to do a full service of it.

Today i got a pretty great surprise. Some nabour had shaped up my MX-practice-track a bit while i was away so i guess i have to hit it up!

Other then that i´m working a bit @ W-racing and was planning on a roadride tomorrow before heading for the hospital.

Will be up with some pics & stuff soon!

What are u doing

What im up to?

As little as possible but last weekend i went to Stockholm to ride the Swedishcup-final.

Haven´t raced the whole thing so i didn´t have much point to race for or anything just wanted to go there & ride for fun with Niklas who was having his first few days back on the bike since his injury.

He is weak as a 6year old having to put duck-tape on his kneepads to make them stay up.

But he was loving it smiling all weekend and i was super-pumped for him!

Unfotunatly we didn´t get very good weather for the race with pissing rain & muddy conditions wich made it fun in some parts but the flat new sections of the course was pretty misserable.

The track is only a minute long so there was zero room for error. I had a pretty smooth run but i wasn´t pushing it enough so i had to settle for 3rd place beaten by Herman & Alex Kangas.

Feels weird to try & race a 1minute race having been so focused on riding world cup & long 4 minutes track the whole year i haven´t even got started before the race is over.

Back home now working a bit at W-racing, riding some moto & trying to get a bit of time of now.

Next week i will be in Åre to shoot some film with Niklas & i hope we won´t have snow by then!

Laters!
